Humble Beginnings
What started out as one hot tub purchase to help with diabetes has now evolved into an entire team of local experts dedicated to helping others find the same relief.
In 1989, Tom Riggs bought a Hot Spring® spa as therapy for his diabetes. He was quickly impressed with the quality and energy efficiency of his spa and the significant improvements in his condition, so he started Hot Springs Pools & Spas.

A True Family Business
Tom’s sons, Matt and Jim, continued the business along with their mother Marilyn after Tom’s passing in 2003.
Jim Riggs
Jim, a former player for the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins, retired from the NFL in 1996 to help grow the business.
Matt Riggs
Matt Riggs is the original founder of Hot Springs. He started out doing everything from sales to delivery and installation. Matt continues to grow the business today.
Zach Riggs
Jim’s son Zach, a 2016 Clemson graduate, has joined the team, bringing fresh energy and expertise to the family business.
Marilyn Riggs
Marilyn had a gift for management and people—two traits that made her a beloved member of the team. Prior to her passing in 2015, she contributed to a wonderful legacy of hard work and family values that has continued into a third generation.
